Selene keeps your data on your phone. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The one thing that can leave your phone is your email address, and only if you choose to join the newsletter.

In short

What Selene stores, and where

Everything below stays in the app's local storage on your phone. None of it is sent to LD Coda or anyone else.

Positions are calculated on the device with the Astronomy Engine library, and every reading is part of the app.

The newsletter (optional)

If you type your email into "Stay updated" in Settings and tap Join, or join on this website, your address is sent to LD Coda's newsletter service through AWS API Gateway, tagged with where you joined. It is used only for news about LD Coda apps, feature updates and lunar insights. Nothing is sent unless you tap Join. You can leave at any time, or ask us to delete your address at selene@ldcoda.com.

Permissions

Selene asks for no permissions: no location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files or notifications. Like every Android app that can go online, it has internet access, which Android grants at install without asking. Selene uses it only for the newsletter signup.

No tracking, ads or analytics

Selene contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, tracking or billing libraries (we checked the 3.1.0 Android build), uses no cookies or fingerprinting, and shows no ads. It has no in-app purchases.

Deleting your data

Open Settings, then Data & Privacy, and tap Clear All Data to wipe everything Selene stored. Uninstalling the app removes it too.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts are served from this site. The App Store and Google Play badge images load from Apple's and Google's servers, which see your IP address as any web server does.

Children

Selene is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information. If you believe a child has sent us an email address or a message, write to selene@ldcoda.com and we will delete it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, including the EU (GDPR) and California (CCPA), you can ask what we hold about you and have it deleted. The only things we can hold are a newsletter address or a contact message you sent. We never sell data. LD Coda is the data controller; contact selene@ldcoda.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
